SLS technology
SLS technology
A method based on laser sintering of powders (Selective Laser Sintering). At the beginning of the process, one of the two tables of the device is filled with the powder needed to perform the printout. Then the powder is poured in layers onto the work table, where it is sintered by a controlled laser beam. Everything happens in a chamber at ~200 °C.
The great advantage of SLS technology is the ability to reduce prototyping costs and design time. The elements do not require supports when printing, due to their embedding in the powder during printing process. This allows you to obtain shapes that are often difficult to achieve using other technologies. The details have an aesthetic surface, for which additional processing is usually not necessary. However, if there is a need for finishing - there is a possibility of sandblasting and painting the elements. Depending on the customer's needs, we can also increase the accuracy of the printout.
Materials in SLS technology
The choice of material for printed elements is extremely important. Depending on the application, we help to choose it. In the case of the SLS technology, we use polyamide PA12 with very good strength and temperature parameters. Printouts are used in demanding conditions, e.g. in the automotive industry and on production lines. We also carry out material tests at the customer's request and offer to send samples for self-evaluation. The PA12 material offers the best price-performance ratio.
Other materials in SLS printing are materials with increased mechanical and thermal strength (PA11), ESD materials (PA11 ESD), carbon fiber reinforced (PA11 CF), polypropylene (PP) and flexible materials (TPE/Flexa). We make prints from these materials for special orders.
Finishing and additional services
For prints in SLS technology, you can choose the finish and services similar to those for prints from other technologies we offer. It is possible:
-
painting in the RAL palette, matt
-
painting in the RAL palette, gloss
-
applying non-slip surfaces
-
smoothing for painting
-
initial color coverage
-
mounting threaded inserts
If you have ready-made models, please contact us to consult solutions and the possibility of finishing prints.
